Hot Dog

Why they call it Hot dog? This food does not look like a dog at all. So where is the name coming from? And why do I care about it? My son really like to eat hot dog. For sure this food will be served when it's still hot. The warm sausage inside a bun with a little garnish such as mayonnaise, mustard or tomato ketchup is now becoming very popular as easy snack.
